Job summary

The Oregon Department of Agriculture is seeking Agriculture Services Laborer positions in the Hermiston Shipping Point District. These seasonal, part-time roles support inspection, grading and certification of Oregon commodities for domestic and export markets.

You will lift 50-60 lbs, help with inspections and sample processing, and work in a warehouse or processing plant. Applicants must be 18+, have a valid license, and keep accurate written records.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Able to regularly lift objects 50-60 lbs.
• Knowledge of agriculture or related field is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Sort and grade commodities in a warehouse or processing setting.
• Assist with inspections, field checks, and sample processing as needed.
• Support personnel with fee collection and recordkeeping.
• Prepare and issue phytosanitary certificates for export.
