Job Summary

Operates plant machinery as directed while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  2. Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
  3. Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
  4. Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
  5. Perform routine machine maintenance.
  6. Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
  7. Maintain a clear and orderly housekeeping in the assigned area.
  8. Run a bagging/soil line.
  9. Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Job Requirements

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent; or at least one month of related experience in trades specific to job requirements; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  3. Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
  4. Regularly required to speak or hear.
  5. Required to stand for extended periods of time.
  6. Ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from ground level; engage in team lifting and/or use provided equipment for heavier items.
  7. Capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and the whole body – bending, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching.
