Job summary

Huna Totem Corporation is seeking a Shipboard Cultural Guide to share Huna Tlingit culture and stories with guests aboard Virgin Voyages' Brilliant Lady, living on board for the full Alaska season. The guide delivers presentations, connects guests to onshore experiences, and serves as a cultural ambassador during 16 back-to-back sailings.

Ideal candidates have deep knowledge of Tlingit history, strong public-speaking skills, and the ability to work independently at sea for May–September 2027,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Tlingit culture and history.
• Excellent presentation and public-speaking skills.
• Self-directed and dependable for the full season aboard ship.
• Available for the entire season: May 11–September 10, 2027.
• Willing to live aboard a cruise ship for an extended season.
• Must meet Virgin Voyages embarkation requirements.
• Knowledge of Southeast Alaska ports, wildlife, and natural history is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Live aboard Brilliant Lady for the full season (May 11–Sept 10, 2027), sailing every itinerary.
• Deliver scheduled cultural presentations and narration on Huna Tlingit culture and history.
• Be a visible, approachable cultural presence aboard; answer guest questions and host sessions as scheduled.
• Coordinate program scheduling, venues, and announcements with Virgin Voyages' onboard team.
• Support port days at Icy Strait Point; connect shipboard program to onshore experiences.
• Represent Alaska Native Voices and Huna Totem Corporation professionally aboard.
• Complete training and shipboard embarkation requirements before the season.
