Job summary

ShopRite of Elizabeth in New Jersey is seeking a Seafood Clerk to deliver excellent customer service while preparing and packing fresh and frozen seafood according to department standards.

You will greet customers, help with product knowledge, maintain quality and cleanliness, stock, price and rotate seafood, and ensure safe operation of equipment while following health and safety guidelines, and assist with shrink control and inventory.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, and understand English.
• Able to handle fresh, frozen seafood and related products.
• Able to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull for long periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• 18 years or older to operate certain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Receive, code-date, and stock seafood products.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the seafood department.
• Monitor refrigeration and report issues.
• Assist with pricing, labeling, and product rotation.
• Adhere to safety, QA, and sanitation standards.
