Job summary

New Morning Market in Woodbury, CT is seeking a seafood department associate to uphold freshness and quality, rotate stock, and assist customers on the sales floor.

You will cut, weigh, and package seafood to customer specs, stock and label products, and coordinate with leadership on ordering and deliveries, while maintaining clean, organized prep areas and engaging customers with a helpful, friendly approach.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail with organizational skills; able to multitask and work fast.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Retail, culinary, or grocery experience.
• Experience with retail scales.
• Ability to safely use knives and other equipment for the seafood dept.

• Learn and share product details, including sourcing, preparation methods, & ingredients in prepared items.
• Cut, clean, weigh, and package seafood according to customer specifications.
• Stock, rotate, and label products to ensure freshness and accurate presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas, including cases, counters, and prep stations.
• Monitor quality by checking dates, packaging, and overall product appearance
• Maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of seafood items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, ensuring proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Engage customers with a friendly, helpful approach when on the sales floor.
