Job summary

The Chefs' Warehouse is seeking a warehouse associate to support inventory control and order fulfillment in a cold, fast-paced environment in New York. You will rotate seafood into stock, process customer orders, and assist with packing and shipping while maintaining temperature-controlled conditions.

The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs with assistance, operating pallet jacks and an electric scaler, and working in refrigerated spaces. Weekly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all incoming seafood is properly rotated into stock.
• Ensure production maintains a steady flow to meet production requirements.
• Read production schedule or customer order to determine items to process, move, gather, or distribute.
• Convey materials from stocked locations to production areas or storage using an electric pallet jack.
• Lift seafood onto table; typically 15–20 lbs, up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Operate an electric scaling machine to scale fish while standing for long periods.
• Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Work in refrigerated rooms at 30–36 degrees.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items and distribute items.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing/shipping.
• Mark or label items with identifying information.
• Open boxes, crates, and other containers.
• Record amounts of items distributed.
• Weigh or count items to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area including warehouse.

Position Summary:

Assists manager by ensuring inventory properly recorded androtated into stock. Processes fresh fish for customer orders. Selects products from pick ticket and stages orders. Replenish stock as needed.

What you’ll do:

• Lift seafood onto table- Lifting 15-20#s consistently, frequently up to 50# and occasionally up to 100# with assistance.
• Uses electric scaling machine to scale fish- involves standing for long periods.
• Sorts and places items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Work in refrigerated rooms 30-36 degrees.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items and distributes items.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department to prepare for shipping.
• Marks or labels items with identifying information.
• Opens boxes, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of items distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area including warehouse.

About you:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
