Job summary

Northeast Grocery is seeking a Seafood Department Supervisor in Watertown, NY. You will order seafood merchandise, train staff, and oversee budgeted activities while ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

You will manage programs, maintain inventory, and deliver high levels of customer service. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to ensure smooth department operations and accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Order all seafood merchandise and supplies (fresh, frozen, wrap).
• Train and schedule seafood department associates; communicate rules and regulations.
• Manage special seafood programs (fried fish, marine diet, demos).
• Maintain department budgets, payroll, and wrap; ensure record keeping.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of seafood products to customers.
• Maintain neat, clean workstation per 5S standards; ensure proper ice display.
• Control inventory for fresh and frozen products; adjust displays and shrink as needed.
• Ensure customer courtesy and accuracy of special orders (e.g., shrimp platters).
• Adhere to sanitation procedures; supervise computer-generated ordering system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management; comply with policies.
