Job summary

ShopRite Canton CT seeks a Seafood Department Associate to deliver excellent customer service while preparing and packing seafood to company standards. You will manage stocking, pricing, and quality control, ensuring safe handling and accurate rotation of both fresh and frozen seafood.

The role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and collaborating with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant department in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Ability to work with fresh, frozen, and processed seafood without negative allergic reactions.
• Stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, preparing, storing, price-marking, scaling, and restocking products.
• Identify seafood types and advise on preparation and usage.
• Maintain freshness and quality of products.
• Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and safe.
