Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace in New York is seeking a Seafood Clerk (Back of House) to support the fresh seafood department. You will help with cooking, prepping salads, and assembling grab-and-go items for customers.

As part of a fast-paced team, you will ensure quality and freshness, verify product, weigh and package selections, and follow safe handling practices. 18+ to apply; medical, dental, and vision coverage plus discounts are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have 18 years of age or older.
• Working knowledge of seafood preparations and displays within a seafood department.
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• The Seafood Clerks will cook and steam seafood for customer purchases, including grab and go items.
• Check and verify freshness of seafood items in live tanks and rotate merchandise.
• Weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machine and wrapping machine.
• Work in a safe and proper manner, exercising safe food handling practices.
• Exercise proper safety practices on use of all equipment.
• Operate and clean seafood equipment and tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

Our Seafood (BOH) clerks are responsible for cooking our fresh seafood, making and preparing salads, seafood sandwiches and grab and go items for our customers!

Responsibilities

1. The Seafood Clerks will cook and steam seafood for customer purchases, including grab and go items
2. Check and verify freshness of seafood items in live tanks. Verify and remove spoiled product and rotate merchandise
3. The Seafood Clerk will weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machine and wrapping machine
4. Work in a safe and proper manner, exercising safe food handling practices.
5. Exercise proper safety practices on use of all equipment
6. Operate and clean seafood equipment and tools
7. Other duties as assigned
