Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace in New Jersey is seeking a Seafood Clerk (Back of House) to support the preparation and presentation of fresh seafood offerings. You will work with Seafood Chefs to prepare and assemble salads, seafood sandwiches, and grab-and-go items for customers.

Responsibilities include cooking and steaming seafood, verifying freshness, weighing and packaging orders, and following safe food handling practices in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with seafood preparations and displays.
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cook and steam seafood for customer purchases, including grab-and-go items.
• Check and verify freshness of seafood items in live tanks; rotate merchandise.
• Weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machine and wrapping machine.
• Maintain safe food handling practices.
• Operate and clean seafood equipment and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Our Seafood (BOH) clerks are responsible for cooking our fresh seafood, making and preparing salads, seafood sandwiches and grab and go items for our customers!

Responsibilities

1. The Seafood Clerks will cook and steam seafood for customer purchases, including grab and go items
2. Check and verify freshness of seafood items in live tanks. Verify and remove spoiled product and rotate merchandise
3. The Seafood Clerk will weigh, price, and package customer selections using weigh scales, label machine and wrapping machine
4. Work in a safe and proper manner, exercising safe food handling practices.
5. Exercise proper safety practices on use of all equipment
6. Operate and clean seafood equipment and tools
7. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

1. 18 years of age or older
2. Working knowledge of seafood preparations and displays within a seafood department
3. Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems
