Job summary

El Super Seafood Clerk position in Lawndale supports our Store Operations Team with friendly customer service and precise seafood displays. You will set up, maintain and rotate displays, ensure clean and attractive presentation, and assist customers throughout the store.

Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, read simple instructions, and use basic computer tasks. Food Handler Card is required for food handling duties; El Super is an equal opportunity employer.

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and colleagues.
• Apply common sense to detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous customer service and assist customers in the seafood area.
• Set up, maintain and clean the seafood display cases.
• Clean, fill and rotate the seafood displays and ensure labeling accuracy.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for extended periods.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Seafood Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, sets up, maintains and cleans the seafood display cases. Cleans, fills and rotates the seafood displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged period of times.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
