Job summary

El Super in Phoenix is hiring a Seafood Clerk to join the Store Operations Team. You will provide friendly customer service, help customers in the seafood department, and maintain the seafood displays at the El Super #22 location in Phoenix.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and agility in a fast-paced grocery setting. A Food Handler Card or equivalent certification is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in a retail setting is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions and product labels.

Responsibilities

Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Seafood Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, sets up, maintains and cleans the seafood display cases. Cleans, fills and rotates the seafood displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged period of times. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
