Job summary

El Super #19 in Phoenix is hiring a Seafood Clerk to deliver friendly, courteous service. You’ll set up, maintain and clean seafood display cases and assist customers while keeping displays fresh and inviting.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods, and pass a Food Handler Card. We offer benefits including 401(k) and continuing education, with starting pay $16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Seafood Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, sets up, maintains and cleans the seafood display cases. Cleans, fills and rotates the seafood displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
