Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston Willowbrook is seeking a Seafood Clerk to assist customers and keep seafood displays clean and stocked. The role requires bilingual Spanish/English communication and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, with standing for extended periods.

Food Handler Card is required. This is a customer-facing, fast-paced position with opportunities for ongoing education and benefits through Fiesta Mart and the Chedraui USA group.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English and interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and employees.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and maintain seafood display cases.
• Set up, maintain and clean seafood displays.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Seafood Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service. The role involves assisting customers, setting up, maintaining and cleaning the seafood display cases, and cleaning, filling and rotating the seafood displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of time. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, with essential functions that include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
