Job Summary

Provides quality seafood offerings from a standard product selection. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Service

    Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated, thereby increasing customer confidence and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised per plan. Delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for at‑shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value. Offers product samples, answers product questions and assists customers in finding or suggesting products. Ensures customer requests and special orders are fulfilled. (60%)

  • Leadership

    Assists in promoting trust and respect among associates through collaboration, teamwork, and communication of company, department, and job‑specific information. Helps establish goals for merchandising, sales, and profits and empowers the team to meet or exceed them. Manages schedules to ensure tasks are completed in a cadence that maintains the highest levels of customer service and conditions during peak hours. Adheres to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines. (20%)

  • Financial

    Completes daily and weekly administrative tasks (communications, online training, scheduling, pricing changes, orders, etc.). Maintains awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports any discrepancies. Reviews and inspects products for quality and freshness, taking appropriate action when necessary. Assists in planning, organizing, and performing the inventory process. Utilizes production planning tools to accurately produce fresh products and ensures discarding or markdown processes reduce shrink. Ensures product is held at proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retains documentation of temperature logs per policy. (10%)

  • Compliance/Safety

    Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA & COI. Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner, securing and removing items from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with procedures and inspecting and identifying unsafe conditions to report to store management. Notifies management of customer or employee accidents, reports safety risks or illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies and encourages a culture of safety. (10%)

Environmental Factors

Retail – Meat/Seafood. Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand or walk on various flooring types, use manual dexterity, communicate verbally, see, hear, smell and perform repetitive movements with both hands. Often required to reach at waist level or overhead, carry, push, or lift loads up to the required weights. Occasional need to sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb up to 10 ft. Work Conditions: May be exposed to indoor, outdoor, cold, frozen, heated, and wet/humid environments. Safety Risk Factors: May need to twist the back/neck, walk on a slippery or cluttered floor, work with hazardous equipment, and be exposed to sharp objects, loud noise, skin irritants, dust, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, and other toxins. Equipment required includes cleaning supplies, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, racks, carts, pallet jacks, shopping carts, baler/compactor, ladders, pliers, wire cutters, ice machine, shovel, powered cutting equipment, slicers, saws, grinders, knives, wrapping equipment, automatic meat wrapper, lobster tanks, box cutter. Personal Protective Equipment: Goggles, gloves, cutting gloves, fryer gloves, oven gloves, back brace. Lifting requirement: 70 lb. Pulling requirement: 250 lb.
