Job summary

The University of Washington seeks a Project Manager (program operations specialist) to oversee the SEASAM Seafloor Sampling Facility. You will act as the primary interface between scientists, vessel operators, and vendors, with budget authority and responsibility for purchases, travel, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities include coordinating cruise planning, shipping logistics, and inventory management, while facilitating internal and external communication to ensure efficient facility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Earth or environmental science or equivalent experience.
• Four years' experience in marine geoscience or related field.
• Experience with seafloor sampling operations and cruise planning/logistics.
• Experience with shipboard operation and deployment of seafloor sampling equipment.
• Proficiency with standard office software and documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first and central point of contact for the SEASAM Facility and researchers.
• Coordinate cruise planning, budgeting, and scheduling with operations and vessel teams.
• Manage inventory, procurement, and vendor contracts for the facility.
