Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced RN to lead SDU nursing care at the Downey, California hospital. You will provide professional nursing care using the nursing process, uphold standards, and mentor the care team while ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include leading care delivery, coordinating with physicians, documenting thoroughly, and supporting discharge planning. Must have CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, and recent CCU/SDU experience.

Qualifications

• 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a Critical Care, DOU or SDU setting, or successful completion of a KP Critical Care, DOU or SDU course (as unit appropriate) or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.
• Must hold California RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications.
• Shifts include night options and unit-specific requirements as described by KAISER.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process per established standards and hospital policies.
• Lead and mentor the health care team; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure accountability.
• Ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, discharge planning, and effective communication with patients and families.
