Job summary

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) hires an experienced SDN Automation Engineer to design, deploy and manage network automation across data centers and cloud environments.

You will develop scripts and workflows using Python, Ansible and Terraform to streamline operations and reduce manual effort. You will lead deployment of intent-based networks, NSoT and zero-touch provisioning, while collaborating with architects and operations teams to ensure scalable, secure and observable network

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale network automation projects.
• Proficiency with SDN platforms such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX or Juniper Contrail.
• Strong understanding of L2/L3, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN and controller-based design.
• Hands-on experience with automation and scripting tools like Python, Ansible, RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with network source of truth tools e.g., NetBox or Nautobot.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
• Exposure to Kubernetes networking and micro-segmentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong focus on service availability and quality user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and maintain SDN solutions across data centers and cloud environments.
• Develop and orchestrate network automation workflows using Python, Ansible, Terraform.
• Drive deployment of intent-based networks and zero-touch provisioning capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex SDN issues and provide long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with architects to integrate SDN with WAN, LAN and cloud infra.
• Promote automation, monitoring and observability best practices.
• Stay updated on SDN, NFV and automation technologies.
• Manage complex activities to tight timescales.
• Develop tests and deployment scripts for changes across networks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive projects on time and budget.
