Software Quality Engineer - SDET - Lead/Principal

As a member of the Salesforce Quality Team, you will use agile methodologies to plan, coordinate, and lead customer engagements that result in automated tests and input to product teams. You will use your skills to extract user scenarios from conversations and data, then translate your findings into automatable test plans which either you or a team member will automate. A successful team member should have a strong quality mindset and will ensure our customers receive high-quality deliverables. You will be responsible for sharing information and collaborating with others for the benefit of our customers, partners, and team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Designs and delivers automation and automation frameworks for products with a quality mindset
  2. Provides guidance through code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers within their scrum team
  3. Masters the Salesforce development process, culture, and code base to improve it
  4. Participates in a Test Design Review Board for integration test plans across clouds, focusing on functional, business, complex scenarios, high-impact projects, usability, and accessibility
  5. Masters cloud requirements (e.g., tech stack, business usage, implementation)
  6. Creates end-to-end, cross-cloud-impacting, integration automation (API and UI) with complex orgs
  7. Communicates with customers to understand real-life usage and build test cases
  8. Executes testing with complex org setup and varied data shapes
  9. Organizes and drives cross-product testing
  10. Advocates for customer enhancements
  11. Monitors product and feature-level quality health metrics (testability, test coverage, etc.)
  12. Works closely with senior developers, PMs, and UX to ensure features meet business and quality requirements
  13. Solves production issues
  14. Provides leadership and coaching to team members and mentors others across teams

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering, quality assurance/engineering, usability, or business analysis
  2. Highly proficient in JavaScript and Java
  3. Experience with automation (UI and Backend)
  4. Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
  5. Familiar with industry quality & usability practices
  6. Proficient in functional automation (UI/API)
  7. Self-motivated, able to work independently, quick learner, meets deadlines, and demonstrates problem-solving skills
  8. Effective communication of technical information and ability to coordinate cross-team efforts
  9. Experience with agile development methodology
  10. Experience with developer tools like git, Maven, and Eclipse IDE
  11. Good understanding of relational databases and SQL
  12. A related technical degree is required
  13. Office Flex: 1-3 days/week in the office
