Job summary

Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. is seeking an experienced automation-focused software engineer to join an agile development team.

You will design, implement, and maintain automated testing solutions that validate software in CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with Development, QA, and DevOps to ensure quality across builds. The role emphasizes owning automation components, improving efficiency, and applying modern web technologies (RESTful APIs, Angular/React-like frameworks, and cloud platforms)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related field highly preferred or equivalent business experience.
  • Two years or more of work experience in the technology industry.
  • Two years or more of work experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with SDLC models and Agile/Scrum WebDriver and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automated software solutions that validate usability, maintainability, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, monitor, and maintain health of solutions.
  • Create and maintain automated integration, performance, and load tests; document testing procedures.

The Role

As a member of an agile software development team, you are focused on quality engineering best practices to meet and exceed internal and external client expectations. In this position, you will perform the analysis, design, and documentation along with the development of automation solutions supporting integration, performance, load, and end-to-end testing. You will work with Development, QA, and DevOps to integrate automated solutions to validate software builds as automated acceptance tests within the CI/CD pipelines. These include but are not limited to tasks assigned during sprints, research POC, and validate new technologies within the scope of automation.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate evaluation of technologies and achieve consensus on technical standards and solutions among a diverse group of information technology professionals.
  • Polished professional with demonstrated IT experience and strong communication skills that can rapidly gain and maintain credibility with business leaders and colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and effective listening skills required.
  • Experience with source code management such as Visual Studio Online or Gitlab.
  • Thorough understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability.
  • Understanding of responsive design, web accessibility.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and cloud-based compute, storage, and communication patterns.
  • Knowledge of current software engineering trends, best practices and standards.
  • Knowledge in modern frameworks such as Angular, Angular.js, Vue, or React.
  • Knowledge with JavaScript (Node, React, Redux), HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools and technologies including .Net, ASP.Net, C#, and SQL.
You Need to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field highly preferred or equivalent business experience.
  • Two years or more of work experience in the technology industry.
  • Two years or more of work experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience working with all core software development activities, including requirements gathering, design, construction, and testing.
  • Expertise and knowledge of formal SDLC models and methodologies, including Lean, Agile, or Scrum WebDriver and other types of automation.
  • Experience working with application interface design, modeling, and implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working in agile and/or iterative project management methodology.
  • Experience working in Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platform.
