Job summary
Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II Contractor) to help ensure the quality and reliability of PlayStation media experiences. The role supports PlayStation client software, focusing on automated UI and API tests, with strong Python skills and API behavior considerations.
You will automate tests, collaborate with developers, review PRs, and contribute to continuous quality improvements across releases.
Qualifications
- Strong Python 3.11 with automation experience using pytest 7+.
- UI automation with Appium 2 or Selenium 4.
- API testing with Python tools such as requests, pytest, or Postman.
- Experience with Jenkins jobs/pipelines.
- Git proficiency.
- Familiar with qTest or TestRail and Agile processes.
- Experience designing test cases and learning about a product and validation approaches.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated UI and API tests in Python using pytest and Jenkins.
- Test how backend/API changes affect client functionality and user experience.
- Review developer pull requests to spot potential client issues early.
- Troubleshoot Jenkins jobs and help keep test suites stable and reliable.
- Share results, document insights, and collaborate with leads and developers to keep testing practical and effective.
