Job summary

Apple's San Diego site seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test for Creativity Apps. You will design, write, maintain and execute end-to-end tests manually and with automation using Swift and Python to ensure rock-solid features for creative professionals and video editors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA/QE.
• Minimum of 1+ years experience as a Software Engineer in Test.
• Programming in Python and/or Swift to prototype features, create test apps, and test with internal tools.
• Proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps, and backend/APIs.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, SQA testing methodologies, terminology and processes such as planning, requirements analysis, testing and deployment.
• Proven bug detection, isolation, and regression skills.
• Able to extract user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements, translating them into effective test plans and cases.
• Strong familiarity with iOS and macOS.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate test script development and reduce manual effort.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, write, maintain and execute end-to-end tests manually and via automation using Swift and Python.
• Drive quality and process improvements to ensure features are rock-solid before release.
• Report bugs with strong isolation and regression techniques.
• Balance a wide range of deliverables and communicate progress and risks effectively.
• Continual self-education in video/photo tech and testing methods.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate multi-functional test efforts.
