Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team and ensure high-quality features across PlayStation platforms. You will design and maintain automation frameworks, execute UI/API tests, and drive quality across devices and environments.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years in SDET/QA, strong programming skills (Python/Java/JS/C++), experience with Playwright/Selenium/Cypress, and solid CI/CD knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in SDET, Quality Engineering or Test Automation.
• Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C# or C++.
• Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium or similar technologies.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured or custom automation frameworks.
• Experience testing SDKs, libraries, backend services, and native applications.
• Familiarity with modern web technologies such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, CircleCI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and platform enhancements.
• Review product requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents to identify test scenarios and quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop automated tests to improve regression coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
• Execute automated and manual testing across multiple platforms, devices, and environments.
• Investigate, reproduce, document, and verify software defects while collaborating with development teams to drive timely resolution.
• Monitor automation pipelines, analyze test results, and continuously improve test reliability and execution efficiency.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver high-quality releases.
• Contribute to quality engineering best practices, coding standards, and automation strategy across the organization.
• Participate in code reviews for automation frameworks and test infrastructure.
• Provide regular quality metrics, risk assessments, and project status updates to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
