SDET Automation Engineer

We are seeking two experienced SDET Automation Engineers to join a high-impact team focused on enhancing UI and API test coverage across multiple internal web applications. Candidates should be proficient in coding test cases/scripts using existing frameworks, particularly Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript). This is not a framework-building role.

Rate: $60 - $70 / hr. w2. We offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Test strategy: Planning, implementation, and overall oversight and responsibility for testing approach across the product suite. Document test strategy and best practices and relentlessly drive improvement and implementation.
  • Test process improvement: Continually review and assess current approach to testing, identify areas for improvement, and propose and implement process enhancements.
  • Collaboration and leadership: Collaborate with technical peers, cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders to deliver industry-leading automated testing solutions.
  • Technical testing leadership and guidance to the entire testing team and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Test tooling: Investigate and oversee rollout of open source and commercial automation testing tools where appropriate and aligned to Test strategy.
  • Perform code reviews for automation tests and frameworks.
  • Train others to improve the automated testing skills of the whole QA team.
  • Provide technical vision for highly complex ideas and issues to varied audiences including various management levels.
  • Initiate and lead strategic quality initiatives for the Operating Unit (OU) (e.g., test data management, environment virtualization, security testing, developer and unit test assistance, CI/CD process).
  • Own and run current legacy UAT testing process and create a roadmap for modernization of the UAT process/approach.
  • Testing and validating a complex front-end environment of dashboards and networked APIs that support multiple stakeholder groups

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience developing and executing UI automation scripts primarily using Playwright (JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Cypress and Selenium experience.
  • Test UIs built in Angular across multiple internal web applications.
  • Contribute to API testing. Collaborate closely with QA and development teams to ensure application quality.
  • Strong Playwright automation experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Solid UI testing skills
  • SQL experience
  • Familiarity with VS Code and ability to have Playwright installed and ready to demo.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or similar) strongly preferred.
