Job summary

Apple Pay Quality Team is seeking an experienced QA automation engineer to establish and refine formal QA processes, integrate testing with CI/CD, and ensure security, performance, and reliability of Apple Pay and Wallet products.

You will work with global development, product, and project management teams to deliver features on aggressive timelines, and to ship reliable, high-quality experiences for customers in China and beyond.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming and software testing.
  • Experience developing test plans, assessing risk, defects, and test reporting.
  • Experience with CI/CD integration and automation frameworks.
  • Experience validating microservices and API contracts.
  • Strong collaboration across global teams and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Architect automation frameworks and maintain test cases with results reporting.

  • Plan, schedule, and communicate status of QA work.

As a member of the Apple Pay Quality Team, you"ll establish, implement, and continuously refine the formal QA processes to ensure that our group adheres to industry-accepted best practices. Additionally, you"ll integrate the testing infrastructure with our continuous integration and continuous deployment systems to ensure that all the tools and services we develop undergo thorough testing and meet our quality standards.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for driving Apple Pay and Wallet products all the way to production. The automation code you write will be critical to ensuring our products in China meet the uncompromising high bar for security, performance, and reliability that our customers expect. From everyday seamless experiences to integrating with diverse local ecosystems, features you work on will be used by millions of people across the country. You will work cross-functionally with global development, product, and project management teams to deliver on aggressive timelines and ship features that surprise and delight our customers. Key Responsibilities
  • Architect automation frameworks, creating and maintaining test cases and reporting test results
  • Work closely with developers to align on feature design, test plans and automation development for CI/CD
  • Prioritize, schedule, and communicate the status of your work effectively
  • Dive deep to resolve highly technical issues in complex systems
  • Collaborate with developers to “shift left” and catch bugs sooner
  • Build, monitor, and enhance CI/CD pipelines
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements and maintain test development roadmaps
  • Mentor team members and provide technical leadership
  • Leverage AI to streamline and optimize your QA workflows
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing methodology, and testing tools
  • Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate defects, and providing relevant data for test reporting
  • Able to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action
  • Experience developing and maintaining automation systems that scale
  • Experience testing applications built for mobile devices
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience validating microservices (unit, component, contract, integration tests, etc)
  • Passionate about clean code and OO design patterns
  • Works well with tight timelines and under pressure
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams
  • Knowledge of operating systems and networks
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience with contract testing tools (Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, or similar)
  • Experience with canary and blue-green deploys
  • Experience with service virtualization (WireMock, Mountebank, Hoverfly, or similar)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS a bonus
  • Proficient in Java or Kotlin
  • Proficient in understanding code to look into client side of the automation stack - Swift preferred
  • Experience managing the build & release process for iOS/MacOS projects is a bonus
