Job summary

iCapital Network is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join the Quality Assurance team in Salt Lake City. This hands-on role focuses on API and backend testing, building automated test suites with Python and Behave, and integrating tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate has strong backend testing experience, TDD/BDD knowledge, and a passion for quality across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years QA engineering delivery with emphasis on backend and API testing.
• 4+ years delivering in Agile SDLC with CI/CD integration.
• Hands-on Python programming with Behave, TDD, and QA design patterns.
• Strong experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Blockchain knowledge and banking/finance exposure are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement automated test suites for API and backend services.
• Develop automated tests using Behave (BDD) and Python for new features.
• Integrate tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Maintain and improve automation frameworks for evolving architecture including blockchain components.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure testability and quality.
• Create and manage defect workflows using Jira with clear traceability.
• Define, track, and publish QA metrics to support automated testing and quality reporting.
• Build and maintain performance and load testing suites for backend services and smart-contract interactions.
• Perform functional, API, automation, performance, and integration testing as needed.
• Contribute to continuous QA process improvements in an Agile environment.
