Job summary

Ethereum Technologies in Cupertino, CA is hiring a QA Automation Engineer to develop and maintain automated tests for iOS apps. You will work with Swift, XCTest, and XCUITest to expand our automation and ensure high-quality builds across on-site and offshore teams.

The role requires strong UI automation experience, meticulous bug reporting, and the ability to coordinate across time zones while communicating clearly with clients and engineers. On-site 5 days a week in Cupertino.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of hands-on Swift development experience.
• Five plus years developing automated tests with XCTest/XCUITest.
• Strong knowledge of the iOS testing ecosystem and UI automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop new automated tests and enhance automation frameworks using Swift, XCTest, and XCUITest.
• Triage nightly automation results, validate failures, collect logs, identify root causes, and write bug reports.
• Perform manual testing when needed and identify opportunities to automate scenarios.
• Collaborate with Engineering and QA to improve automated test suites.
• Document test coverage gaps and help close automation gaps.
• Coordinate with Offshore Lead/PM to align onsite and offshore delivery.
• Participate in morning/evening calls with offshore teams as required.
• Engage stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical tasks for offshore teams.
• Act as bridge between customer and offshore teams to resolve gaps.
• Track progress and communicate risks and issues proactively.
• Write clear bug reports detailing issue, impact, and reproduction steps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new automated tests and enhance existing automation frameworks and tooling using Swift, XCTest, and XCUITest.
• Triage nightly automation results, validate failures, collect logs, identify root causes, and create clear, actionable bug reports.
• Perform manual testing when required and identify opportunities to automate test scenarios.
• Work closely with Engineering and QA teams to build, maintain, and improve automated test suites.
• Identify, document, and help close test coverage and automation gaps.
• Coordinate closely with the Offshore Lead/PM to ensure smooth execution, communication, and delivery between onsite and offshore teams.
• Participate in morning and/or evening calls with offshore teams as required.
• Engage with client stakeholders to understand business and functional requirements.
• Document scope of work and translate client requirements into clear technical and functional requirements for offshore teams.
• Act as a bridge between the customer and offshore teams to resolve technical, functional, and communication gaps.
• Track project progress against planned versus actual deliverables and proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and issues.
• Write clear and concise bug reports that enable developers to quickly understand the issue, impact, and steps to reproduce.

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on Swift programming experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing automated tests using XCTest/XCUITest.
• Strong hands-on experience with Xcode and the iOS testing ecosystem.
• Strong experience developing, maintaining, and debugging UI automation.
• Experience triaging, debugging, and monitoring automated/nightly test executions.
• Strong experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Experience working directly with clients to understand business and functional requirements.
• Ability to translate client requirements into actionable tasks for offshore engineering/QA teams.
• Proven experience working in an onsite-offshore or globally distributed delivery model.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple time zones and participate in morning/evening calls when required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ownership, coordination, and collaboration skills.
• Must be comfortable working onsite in Cupertino, CA, 5 days per week.
