Job summary

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) seeks a Software Development Engineer to join the Inventory team. You will work on highly visible projects spanning scoping, design, implementation, testing and delivery, influencing customer and associate experiences.

Responsibilities include building scalable distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl, collaborating with customers, and leading when needed. Bellevue, WA on-site role with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for large systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one language.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates the software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers — moving billions of units of inventory, employing tens of thousands of people, and ensuring customers get what they want, when we promised it. Inventory

AFT’s Inventory team delivers complex, innovative, scalable solutions to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of all physical goods across the Amazon fulfillment network, ensuring both inventory record accuracy and safe inventory handling for billions of items.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
