Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in the United States (East Palo Alto, CA) seeks a Software Development Engineer to join the Cloudscape team and advance intent-based UX at scale for AWS Management Console UX.

You will design, build, and operate end-to-end systems spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend integration. Work across the full stack with GenAI tech and validation agents to deliver impactful builder experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new/existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle including coding standards and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end systems including backend services, APIs, and frontend integration.
• Build GenAI-powered services for intent-based UX generation, validation, and workflows.
• Contribute to long-term technical vision and architecture decisions.
• Balance short-term delivery with scalable, maintainable system design.
• Collaborate with AWS builders community and internal teams to translate needs into robust solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline-based deployment.
• Explore AI-powered capabilities like conversational setup, NL troubleshooting, and AI-assisted fleet management.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising engineering standards.
