Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Boston is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the EBS Capacity Engineering team.

You will design, build, and operate scalable distributed systems that manage EBS server fleets across AWS data centers worldwide, optimize capacity planning, and improve availability for customers. Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications.
Strong OO design skills and programming experience in at least one language such as Java, C++, Python, or C#.

Responsibilities

Design and develop highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems to power AWS services.
Write code that is correct, efficient, and well tested; deliver software features and improvements.
Perform code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical decisions.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to meet business requirements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices; participate in on-call rotation.
