Job summary

Agile Defense is seeking a Scrum Master III to support Agile teams delivering AI, data, and national defense capabilities. This position requires TS/SCI eligibility and a Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certification. You will facilitate ceremonies, align backlogs, remove impediments, and coach teams for continuous improvement.

Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams is expected. The role is based at Peterson Space Force Base, CO, and involves collaboration with mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• 2+ years supporting Agile teams; CSM or similar certification required.
• Experience leading daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retros.
• Basic Jira/Confluence; familiarity with Teams recommended.

Responsibilities

• Support backlog refinement and assist Product Owners in prioritization.
• Identify and remove impediments to maintain delivery velocity.

Job Description

Agile Defense is seeking a Scrum Master III to support Agile teams delivering AI, data, and nationaldefense capabilities. This role facilitates essential Scrum activities, aligns backlogs, removes team impediments, tracks Agile performance metrics, and promotes strong collaboration across technical and mission partners. The Scrum Master III plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and ensuring successful delivery within complex, highimpact environments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Support backlog refinement and assist Product Owners in maintaining aligned and prioritized backlogs
• Identify, track, and remove impediments to keep delivery on track
• Provide foundational Agile coaching and demonstrate servant leadership
• Track Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, and overall sprint health
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and progress across teams and stakeholders
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across technical and mission teams
• Use Jira and Confluence for workflow, documentation, and team coordination
• Utilize Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration tools for communication and alignment
• Contribute foundational knowledge of AI/ML pipelines, data engineering, or nationaldefense project environments
• Support the delivery of AI, data, and defenserelated capabilities in alignment with Agile best practices

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, project management, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Equivalent combinations of education, military experience, Agile certification, and relevant experience supporting Agile teams may be considered
• 2+ years of experience supporting Agile teams or working within an Agile development environment. Certified Scrum Master or a comparable industry certification is required
• Experience supporting daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; backlog-refinement support; impediment identification and removal; foundational Agile coaching and servant leadership
• Basic proficiency with Jira and Confluence; familiarity with Microsoft Teams or comparable collaboration tools
• Ability to track velocity, burn-down charts, and sprint health
• Maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to the Scaled Agile Framework
• DoD or federal-contracting experience
• Familiarity with program-management principles and methodologies
• Demonstrated interest in continued growth within Agile and Scrum roles
• Experience supporting international teams or operating under Status of Forces Agreement requirements

$100,000 - $115,000 a year
