We are seeking a seasoned Senior Scrum Master to support our Card Operations team within the Cards & Payments Technology group. This role will guide multiple Agile teams, drive delivery across concurrent initiatives, and partner closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions in a highly regulated environment. This position requires an expert in Scrum with the flexibility to operate in hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments aligned with SDLC governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate daily Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives) for multiple project teams (8–12 team members).
  • Manage simultaneous delivery workstreams, ensuring consistent delivery velocity, effective resource planning, and cross-team coordination.
  • Operate effectively in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment, aligning project execution with enterprise-level SDLC policies and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders—particularly within Card Operations—to define, refine, and prioritize product backlogs.
  • Translate high-level Epics and initiatives into detailed User Stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria and business value.
  • Drive ongoing backlog grooming, scope alignment, and effort estimation with a focus on quality delivery and customer impact.
  • Serve as a Jira subject matter expert—create and manage boards, build dashboards, configure workflows, track story points, and analyze sprint metrics.
  • Coach and mentor Agile teams to follow best practices, remove blockers, resolve conflicts, and continuously improve through retrospectives.
  • Build trusted relationships with technical leads, QA, release management, and business SMEs to ensure clarity, transparency, and alignment across the board.
  • Report on team performance and delivery status to leadership and stakeholders with data-driven insights and progress tracking.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience leading Agile teams and managing Scrum ceremonies across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proven ability to run teams of 8–12 developers/engineers in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with direct experience working in a hybrid delivery model.
  • In-depth knowledge of Product Management, product lifecycle, and the roles of key business partners, especially within Card Operations or financial services.
  • Expertise in backlog refinement, user story decomposition, effort estimation, and success criteria definition.
  • Advanced experience with Jira for Agile delivery—building boards, managing backlogs, setting up workflows, and sprint tracking.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or PMI-ACP).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the banking, payments, or card operations industry.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile (SAFe) or other enterprise Agile frameworks.
  • Exposure to Kanban for continuous delivery or production support teams.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence, Azure DevOps, or related project tools.
  • Background in Agile coaching or mentoring junior Scrum Masters.
