Job summary

Paymentus, a fast-growing FinTech and SaaS provider, seeks a Scrum Master to drive multiple software delivery projects. You’ll collaborate with Delivery Leads, PMs, Tech Architects, and Account Managers to plan, track, and remove impediments, ensuring timely, quality releases aligned with business goals.

The role requires strong English communication, 3+ years in Scrum Master roles, and experience with distributed teams. This is a full-time position in a dynamic fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required.
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an agile team required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Software/IT project management.
• 2+ years of experience with offshore/remote development teams.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Jira Dashboards and Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of SDLC and CI/CD is a plus.
• CSM or PMI-ACP certification strongly preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver multiple software development projects using agile approaches (Scrum, Scrumban, Kanban).
• Facilitate communication, resolve conflicts, and drive decisions on solutions.
• Maintain relationships with leads across service lines and with project managers, architects, and product teams.
• Ensure on-time delivery, tracking milestones and risks.
• Organize daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives for progress monitoring.
• Coach teams on Agile/Scrum practices and continuous improvement.
• Develop dashboards to measure velocity and delivery metrics.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver multiple software development projects utilizing agile approaches such as Scrum, Scrumban, and Kanban, while working with cross functional teams
• Understand high-level technical requirements and be able to facilitate communication, conflict resolution and drive decisions on appropriate solutions
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all leads in the different lines of services
• Take responsibility for successful delivery in close collaboration with Delivery Leads from a variety of service lines.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Project Managers, Development Leads, Technical Architects, Product Owners, Account Managers, Product Support, Architects and Team Leads for requirements, deliveries, and timelines
• Lead, anticipate, and resolve risks and issues, track progress against milestones and deadlines
• Help teams proactively identify impediments, recommend, and assist in providing solutions to remove impediments
• Ensure milestones are reached and deadlines are met throughout SDLC and/or project lifecycle
• Oversee design, development, testing, and delivery of software solutions
• Ensure teams maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery of business value
• Organize and facilitate daily stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, burn down tracking and meetings to monitor product/project progress and resolve any issues the teams may be experiencing
• Organizes and facilitate status meetings to stakeholders and key personnel
• Shape team behavior through excellent management via best practices
• Document progress and communicate to upper management and stakeholders
• Coach teams and stakeholders on how to use Agile/Scrum practices at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
• Continuously identify and adopt agile best practices that improve team velocity and effectiveness.
• Coach and mentor to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks.
• Establish key performance dashboards to measure velocity & delivery metrics

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an agile team required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Software and Information Technology (IT) project management
• 2+ years of experience working with offshore development and / or remote software development teams
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Jira Dashboards and Bit bucket
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) a plus
• Scrum Alliance CSM or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional - strongly preferred
• Demonstrate excellent work ethics in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)

• Knowledge of relational and No-SQL databases

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical Demands

This role requires sitting or standing at a computer workstation.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
