Job summary

American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Scrum Lead to drive agile delivery across digital products. You will coach teams, promote empirical product planning, and remove impediments to accelerate value delivery.

You will lead through servant leadership, foster transparency, and coach Product Owners with backlog management techniques. The role requires strong collaboration across functions in a high-performing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field and equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years in an agile environment.
  • Experience coaching agile methodologies to teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of servant leadership, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and transparency.
  • Proven ability to promote cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the flow of value from generation of ideas to release.
  • Coach teams to create high-value items while eliminating rework and waste.
  • Promote transparency on barriers to change, progress, and impediments.
  • Enable teams to practice Professional Scrum and other agile techniques.
  • Cultivate continuous learning, experimentation, and improvement toward high performance.
  • Coach teams to understand the why and adopt new ways of working.
  • Serve as internal trainers contributing to learning across teams.
  • Coach Product Owners/Managers with backlog planning techniques.
  • Maintain information radiators to support inspection and adaptation.
  • Coach teams to self-organize and facilitate events.

What you'll do

All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in an agile environment
  • Experience coaching agile methodologies to team and stakeholders
  • Skills and knowledge of servant leadership, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
  • Proven ability to promote a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience with driving adoption of Agile methodologies, processes and tools in a cross-functional organization
  • Superior analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous integration/delivery
  • Participation in scaled agile frameworks
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, SSM, or other scrum certification)
