Job summary

Bellevue Plastic Surgeons is seeking a part-time Scrub Technician to join our Bellevue, WA team on-site. The role focuses on preparing operating rooms and assisting during plastic and cosmetic procedures, maintaining sterile conditions, and supporting the surgical team throughout cases.

The Scrub Technician will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and nursing staff, ensuring safety protocols, accurate instrumentation, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with operating room preparation and sterile technique.
• Proficiency in assisting surgeons intraoperatively, including passing instruments and managing supplies.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments used in plastic/cosmetic surgery.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, infection control, and safety standards.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist or scrub technician program, or equivalent experience.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain.
• Prior OR/ASC experience; plastic/cosmetic surgery experience is a plus.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Scrub Technician role based in Bellevue, WA. The Scrub Technician will prepare operating rooms for plastic and cosmetic surgical procedures, including setting up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Responsibilities include assisting the surgeon during procedures, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating instrument and supply needs throughout the case. The role involves properly handling and counting instruments and sponges, supporting pre-operative and post-operative room turnover, and collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and nursing staff. The Scrub Technician will follow all safety, infection control, and documentation protocols to support excellent patient outcomes and a smooth surgical workflow.

Qualifications

• Experience with operating room preparation and sterile technique, including instrument setup and maintenance of a sterile field.
• Proficiency in assisting surgeons intraoperatively, including passing instruments, managing supplies, and anticipating procedural needs.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment commonly used in plastic and cosmetic surgery, or strong willingness and ability to learn.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist or scrub technician program, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
• Prior experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center setting preferred; plastic or cosmetic surgery experience is a plus.
