Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse to manage and provide patient care and to supervise nursing care delivered by the care team. This role requires assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating nursing care in line with the professional practice model.

Position involves scrubbing for cases across ambulatory locations, with focus on Sports Medicine, Hands, ENT and Plastics. No weekends, holidays, or on-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a nursing degree and current Ohio licensure or interim permit.
• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing with active Ohio license or permit.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired; surgical center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing and providing care to patients and their families; directing and supervising nursing care provided by the patient care team.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
• Primarily scrubbing for cases at ambulatory locations; focus areas include Sports Medicine (shoulders, foot & ankle), Hands, ENT and Plastics; no weekends, holidays, or on‑call.

Education

2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing

Position Summary:

The Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required:

• 2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio licensure or interim permit. Previous surgical center experience preferred.

This position would be primarily scrubbing for cases at all of our ambulatory locations as well as East (inpatient and ambulatory). Service lines of focus but not limited to: Sports Medicine (primarily shoulders, foot & ankle), Hands, ENT, and Plastics. No weekends, holidays, or call.
