Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Southfield, MI is seeking a Medical Scribe to support Spine & Brain Surgeons. This full-time position documents provider-patient encounters verbatim during exams.

The role accompanies the provider in examinations, records diagnoses and instructions, transcribes orders for labs, imaging, and medications, and documents procedures performed by the provider, ensuring accurate medical records. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency.
• Or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: Required licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Accompanies provider into the patient examination room to document the provider's encounter with the patient.
• Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
• Transcribes patient orders including but not limited to laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
• Documents procedures performed by the provider.
