Job summary

US Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Medical Scribe to join the team at Pima Heart Center. The role supports physicians by transcribing histories, exam notes, procedures, orders, and follow-up instructions in real time.

This full-time position requires a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency with EHR systems. Travel up to 50% is noted; a comprehensive benefits package and CME allowance are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
• Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
• Ability to accurately record information in EHR.

Responsibilities

• Accompany physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe history and physical exam and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and physician present.
• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
• Document any procedures performed by the physician.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
