Qualifications

• 8–10 years hands-on screw machine experience with Acme-Gridley and Davenport machines.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of cams, gears, and gearing.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar design software.
• Good shop math and metric conversion skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes for screw machines.
• Determine optimum cutting speeds, feeds, tooling geometry, cycle times, and sequences.
• Design tooling layouts, cam configurations, tooling sequences, and machine setups.
• Develop setup documentation and process instructions.
• Perform complex machine setups and approve new jobs.
• Optimize machine setups to improve throughput and quality.
• Provide advanced technical troubleshooting.
• Support production startups and manufacturing challenges.
• Lead efforts to reduce setup times, scrap, downtime, tooling costs, and cycle times.
• Ensure processes meet customer specs and quality standards.
• Perform first-piece inspections and support root-cause investigations.
• Participate in Kaizen and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide engineering support during customer visits and audits.
• Maintain LOTO procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
