Patrick Audenis is seeking a talented screenwriter for a feature comedy satire tentatively titled CALIFORNIA CONTRACTOR. The project explores the chaotic world of California construction with witty characters and sharp dialogues.
The assignment involves developing the concept, treatment, and sample scenes. Remote freelance work is welcome; ongoing collaboration may follow after the initial milestone-based work is completed.
SCREENWRITER WANTED — FEATURE COMEDY / SATIRE Independent producer seeking a talented and affordable screenwriter to develop an original feature comedy tentatively titled CALIFORNIA CONTRACTOR. The film is a character-driven satire set in the wild world of California construction and contracting — contractors, homeowners, subcontractors, inspectors, permits, licensing bureaucracy, lawyers, impossible clients, money problems, and the everyday absurdities of trying to build anything in California.
Produced credits are welcome but not required. We care more about whether you can write genuinely funny characters and situations than about an impressive résumé.
The project will be developed in stages rather than commissioning the entire screenplay immediately. The initial paid assignment will involve developing the concept/treatment and several sample scenes. Writers who successfully capture the voice and comedy of the project will be considered for the complete approximately 90–105 page feature screenplay and subsequent revisions. This is intended to become an ongoing collaboration if the first project works well.
Compensation: Paid freelance / project-based assignment. Initial work will be commissioned on a fixed-price milestone basis. Selected candidates may be offered a small paid writing assignment before a writer is selected for the complete screenplay. Remote applicants are welcome.
