A unique opportunity for a passionate screenwriter to craft a short film script inspired by Star Wars. Collaborate closely with the director/producer on an intriguing project set in the Outer Rim, developing complex characters and a thrilling narrative. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of cinematic storytelling and a love for the Star Wars universe.
I am seeking ascreenwriterto help bringShadows of the Past, a Star Wars-inspired short film, to life. This is a 10-minute, character-driven fan film set in the Outer Rim and centered around four strangers who discover a Sith artifact buried in the forest. What begins as chance turns into a tense psychological standoff where only one walks away.
Tone is dramatic and suspenseful—thinkThe Hateful EightmeetsAndor.
About the Role:
You’ll work directly with the director/producer to develop a complete 8–10 page script based on an existing logline, synopsis, and character breakdowns. I'm looking for someone who can create strong, layered dialogue and build tension within a confined, single-location story.
Ideal Candidate:
Strong grasp of story structure, pacing, and cinematic dialogue
Experience writing short film scripts (please include samples)
Passionate about Star Wars (deep lore knowledge a plus!)
Able to work independently, take feedback, and meet quick turnaround deadlines
Bonus if you’re comfortable with minimal exposition and strong visual storytelling
Logline:
On a remote fringe world, a former Jedi, a bounty hunter, a drifter, and a curious young mechanic uncover a buried Sith artifact—unleashing paranoia, buried secrets, and the lure of darkness; as trust shatters, only one will survive the night.
