Job summary

The Screening Officer at Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. maintains the security and safety of people and property at the site, leveraging access control, loss prevention and incident reporting to identify and escalate issues.

Daytime, evening, weekend and holiday availability is required; strong customer service and professional conduct are essential to read SOPs, monitor traffic, perform searches and ensure secure entry and exit procedures.

Qualifications

• Must meet licensing requirements for security officers per local/state regulations.
• Knowledge of security operations and safety devices.
• Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Initiative-driven with the ability to achieve results.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and highlight potential safety issues within the facility.
• Identify security shortfalls and provide recommendations to enhance the security program.
• Read and apply Screening Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoint(s).
• Require data center personnel to undergo metal detection and/or wand searches for entry and exit from secure areas.
• Perform handheld wand searches and walk-through metal detection searches.
• Follow safe work practices and company policies related to job safety; notify supervisor of unsafe conditions.
• Perform duties in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.
