Job summary

Interwest Safety Supply's production team seeks a Screen Printer to set up, operate, and maintain screen printing equipment for signs, decals, and safety graphics. You will work with the Sign Shop team to produce high-quality prints on schedule while adhering to safety and production procedures.

The role emphasizes maintaining cleanliness and organization, handling inks and solvents safely, and performing routine equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and defects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior screen printing, sign shop, or production/manufacturing experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and/or automatic screen-printing presses for production runs on signs, decals, and related products
  • Prepare screens, stencils, and squeegees, and mix and match inks to meet color specifications
  • Load and register substrates (aluminum, vinyl, plastic, or other materials) to ensure accurate print alignment
  • Inspect printed materials for quality, color accuracy, and registration; identify and correct defects during production runs
  • Clean screens, presses, and work areas between jobs and at the end of shifts, following proper chemical handling procedures
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues; report equipment malfunctions to a supervisor
  • Maintain accurate production counts and complete required production paperwork or system entries
  • Safely handle and store inks, solvents, and other production chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and company policy
  • Package, label, and stage finished products for shipping or further processing
  • Collaborate with other sign shop staff to meet production schedules and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards

Working closely with the Sign Shop team, the Screen Printer's primary goal is to produce accurate, high-quality printed products efficiently while following all safety and production procedures.

Primary Objective:
The Screen Printer plays a key role in Interwest Safety Supply's production operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining screen printing equipment to produce signs, decals, and safety graphics that meet the company's quality and delivery standards. Working closely with the Sign Shop team, the Screen Printer's primary goal is to produce accurate, high-quality printed products efficiently while following all safety and production procedures.
A secondary goal is to maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment and to support the broader sign shop team in meeting production schedules and customer deadlines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and/or automatic screen-printing presses for production runs on signs, decals, and related products
  • Prepare screens, stencils, and squeegees, and mix and match inks to meet color specifications
  • Load and register substrates (aluminum, vinyl, plastic, or other materials) to ensure accurate print alignment

Requirements
Qualifications Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior screen printing, sign shop, or production/manufacturing experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided

Physical Demands
While primarily a production role, the Screen Printer position may require:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to a full shift
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift heavier materials with assistance
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand and arm motions
  • Ability to work with and around production chemicals, inks, and solvents, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Manual dexterity for handling screens, tools, and small parts

Work Environment

  • Primarily a sign shop/production facility setting with exposure to noise, fumes, inks, and chemical odors
  • Use of PPE such as gloves, eye protection, and, when applicable, respiratory protection is required
  • May include occasional overtime, weekends, or shift adjustments to meet production demands
