Job summary

Mesa County Valley School District 51 is hiring a Nutrition Services Culinary Associate to join the school’s culinary team. The role involves scratch meal production and serving, following USDA and Nourish Colorado guidelines, and ensuring high hygiene and safety standards across all sites.

You will work under the Culinary Manager, participating in multiple stations, handling POS tasks, inventory, and assisting at other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; D51 student 16+ may work toward diploma.
• Conversational English required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scratch meals using USDA-compliant recipes and HACCP standards.
• Serve meals to students adhering to portion sizes and USDA rules.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation across sites.
• Rotate stock using FIFO and assist with inventory management.
• Support Culinary Manager and assist at other school locations as needed.
