HEI Civil seeks an experienced Scraper Operator for our Charlotte, NC operations. Join a team focused on safety, quality, and productivity, and contribute to a variety of projects from roadways to water infrastructure.

You will operate a scraper and other heavy equipment, perform daily inspections, and support crew planning and field operations in an outdoor, physically demanding setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or more years of experience operating scrapers or other heavy construction equipment preferred.
• Experience working on heavy civil, roadway, earthwork, or site development projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a scraper to support a variety of heavy civil construction projects.
• Operate additional equipment as needed, including loaders, excavators, dozers, motor graders, compactors, water trucks, skid steers, backhoes, mechanized brooms, and other construction equipment.
• Work closely with crew members to complete daily project activities and follow site direction.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and accurately document findings.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and in good operating condition.
• Perform routine equipment checks and communicate maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Participate in daily crew meetings and project planning activities.
• Operate equipment in accordance with company procedures, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Communicate equipment concerns, operational issues, or job site observations to the supervisor.
• Assist with additional duties as needed to support project operations.
• When equipment operation is not required, assist the crew with general labor activities.
