Job summary

Harmon Scrap Metal is seeking an Inbound Inspector to verify inbound materials comply with company policies and laws. The role involves directing yard traffic and maintaining professional communication with customers, drivers, and team members.

The inspector will ensure safe handling and timely data entry into the system. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, related scrap-yard knowledge preferred, and a commitment to a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating professionally with customers and drivers.
• Ability to learn and apply laws governing scrap metal purchasing.
• Ability to use a tablet to enter information into software.
• Comfort with making decisions about material quality per policy and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all incoming material to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
• Guide traffic flow in and out of the yard and coordinate with the scale house.
• Direct customers and drivers to unloading areas and ensure safe unloading.
• Enter inspection data into software immediately.
• Attend trainings and participate in meetings.
