Job summary

SA Recycling LLC in Missouri is seeking a Laborer to decommission vehicles and handle scrap metal with safety as a top priority. You will drain fluids, remove batteries and components, and prepare vehicles for crushing or shredding while following environmental and health standards.

This outdoor role runs 6:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with Saturday as needed. You will operate hand tools, support yard operations, perform equipment inspections, and help maintain a clean, safe working

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• Front end loader or telescoping boom forklift experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for crushing/shredding by draining and capturing all fluids; and removing the battery, catalytic converter and other identified vehicle parts.
• Operate various hand tools and fixed equipment, air compressors, vehicle racks, CFC recovery equipment, etc.
• Recaptures refrigerant’s on received appliances, air conditioners, and vehicles.
• Basic sorting of scrap, as well as metal and debris in preparation for processing.
• Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Provide backup or help throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.
