Job summary

Confluence Academy in Saint Louis seeks a dedicated Special Education SCORES Teacher to support students with neurodiverse needs within the classroom and other assigned areas. You will plan, organize, and present lessons contributing to educational, social, and daily living development to empower students to function in society.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education; ECSE certification preferred.
• Special Education teaching credential required.
• Experience designing IEP-based lessons and tracking progress.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom work and designs instruction for in-person, distance, and virtual learning.
• Administers developmental and subject-specific assessments.
• Communicates student progress with parents and guardians via IEP meetings and reports.
• Collaborates with staff, medical professionals, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Coordinates field trips, transportation, technology setup, and other resources as needed.
• Demonstrates instructional methods and guides students to improve academic and daily living skills.
• Directs assistant teachers to support the classroom program.
• Manages student behavior with CPI-informed strategies.
• Monitors students across environments to maintain a safe, positive learning climate.
• Maintains documentation (IEPs, grades, attendance) to meet state/federal requirements.
• Participates in meetings and professional development to support program implementation.
• Reports safety concerns and adheres to Education Code and school policies.
• Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, and administrators to resolve issues.
