Job summary

Manheim Township invites applications for a part-time Scorekeeper to manage the game clock and track scores for youth basketball leagues across grades 3–12 at MTSD schools. You will work with referees and players in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires ability to stand for long periods, set up venues, and ensure a clean playing area; background checks and CPR certification within 60 days are required.

Responsibilities

• Tear down chairs/tables after games are complete as needed.
• Ensure area of play is clean after games.

Summary

This position is responsible for managing the score clock during Manheim Township Youth Basketball League games. Level of play is from Grade 3 through Grade 8, both boys and girls. As well as a Highschool Recreation League Grades 9-12.

Essential Functions

1. Managing the game clock, keeping track of scores, fouls, and possession in a fast-paced environment.
2. Responsible for setting up tables and chairs as needed before games.
3. Work with officials during the game to ensure accuracy of the game clock.
4. Responsible for tearing down chairs/tables after games are complete as needed.
5. Ensure area of play is clean after games.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include frequent light to occasional heavy lifting (up to 30 lbs.) standing, and walking for long periods of time, bending, pushing, and pulling.
2. Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.
3. Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
4. Ability to talk, hear, and see.

Competencies

1. Ability to operate scoreboard controllers.
2. Ability to communicate effectively with referees and players.

Skills

1. Scoreboard operations.
2. Decision Making - uses logic and reasoning to understand, analyze and evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to make appropriate decisions.

Abilities

1. Communicate effectively with participants, parents, coaches, and officials.
