Job summary

City Of Logan is seeking a part-time seasonal official for Jr. Jazz youth basketball to record scores and manage game information under supervision.

You will operate the scoreboard, track player points and fouls, and coordinate with referees and coaches to ensure accurate records while delivering strong customer service to players and the public. Availability on Saturdays is required during the season.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 14 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• General knowledge of basketball.
• Must be able to work Saturdays.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must be a self-starter and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Monitors basketball games to ensure accurate scoring and game information.
• Operates the scoreboard and game clock as assigned.
• Records team scores, individual player points, fouls, timeouts, and other game information.
• Communicates with referees, coaches, and other game officials to ensure accurate records.
• Maintains focus and attention to detail during each game.
• Reports equipment malfunctions or concerns to the Gym Supervisor or Recreation Coordinator.
• Completes score sheets, game records, and reports as needed.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service while interacting with players, coaches, officials, and the public.

Description:

Under general supervision, records score, game time, fouls, and all other game information for Jr. Jazz youth basketball. Report to Recreation Coordinator and / or Gym Supervisor.

Applicants must have a general knowledge of the game of basketball. Concentrated mental application required. Applicants must be a self-starter and work well with others. Applicants must be able to work Saturdays.

Reports equipment malfunctions or concerns to the Gym Supervisor or Recreation Coordinator. Completes score sheets, game records, and reports as needed. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills while interacting with players, coaches, officials, and the public, requiring professionalism, patience, and effective communication.

Assist in setting up and taking down gyms for basketball games. Participate in all staff training and programs. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
